ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Joseph Marenin, also known by many as Joey. I am a proud graduate of the Computer Engineering Department at California Polytechnic State University. I graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors and have a burning passion for all things software!
Currently, I am working as a backend developer for IBM's Tape Technology Department. In my current role, I am tasked with working on a variety of projects that include topics such as web development, cognitive tool development, and machine learning.
MY INSPIRATION
From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be an engineer. My grandfather, who was and continues to be my biggest inspiration, was an electrical engineer who retired with 12 patents to his name.. Among his biggest accomplishments, my grandfather was a part of the IBM SCAMP team that was responsible for prototyping the IBM 5100, one of the first portable computers.
Because of this, I have always had aspirations to to be an engineer and make meaningful contributions to society in the way that my grandfather did. I have a strong passion for computer science and software development, and have decided I would share these passions with the world by using them in a way to provide meaning to society.
